Accounting Associate

The Role: This is a hybrid position with days in-office (Greentree) and days working remotely. You will perform various clerical and routine accounting tasks in support of a privately held company with several business units. Focused on A/P, intercompany reconciliation, posting entries, verifying and reconciling input to financial reporting system, and other financial reports. Assists in performance of various clerical duties, payroll reporting, and updating routine existing financial records and reports using basic data entry in an accounting system or spreadsheet. Responds to inquiries and contacts other departments to resolve a variety of problems. Responsibilities: • Apply accounting principles, regulations, and policies to all work duties • Perform general office support and a variety of routine clerical duties including organizing, filing, scanning, and data entry • Enter Accounts Payable invoices into accounting software • Post monthly journal entries. • Maintain, verify, and update numerous general ledger accounts • Import daily transaction files into proprietary software • Assist with 1099 preparation and mailing • Reconcile intercompany accounts • Bank Reconciliations • Help provide and prepare information for reports in a timely manner • Keep sensitive information confidential

The ideal candidate will have: • High school diploma or equivalent required with at least 2 years’ experience in related function. • Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and practices • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, such as the use of pivot tables and vlookup functions • Attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to analyze and solve problems. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping principles and ability to perform simple accounting procedures • Records maintenance skills. • Knowledge of accounting procedures involving procurement, travel, and/or employment. • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. • Account balancing skills. • Must possess qualities supporting the company values of drive, teamwork, caring and integrity.
