The Application Developer I creates and maintains existing applications using agile development methodologies such as Kanban and pair programming. Works on distributed applications utilizing client-side and server-side programming. Remote opportunity – This is a full-time remote (work from home) position. Occasional travel to our Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA throughout the year will be required.

Responsibilities and Duties • Creates new and modifies existing custom distributed applications • Uses development frameworks (e.g. .NET and Angular) • Adheres to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and agile methodologies (e.g. scrum, pair programming) • Contributes to the analysis, architecture, and design of application integrations through SOAP and REST-based web services • Implements integration workflows using an ESB framework or other serverless technologies like Azure Functions and Azure Logic Appsk • Assists with the design and implementation of database changes including schema modifications, stored procedures, and indexes • Troubleshoots technical issues and documents solutions • Facilitates completing testing and quality assurance including developing formal test plans • Assigns and resolves the development team’s support tickets and service requests • Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Qualifications and Skills • 0-2 years of experience developing applications in C#, VB.NET, Java or other JVM languages with JavaScript, JQuery, or other JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Ember) • 0-2 years of experience working with SQL Server, MySQL, or other relational database, SVN, Git, or other revision control system.
