Autonomy Software Engineer Perception

About Your Role: • Work with the autonomy, systems engineering, and safety teams in identifying perception requirements for the Autonomous Relay Convoy (ARC) system. • Work with the autonomy, systems engineering, and safety teams in designing the perception subsystem architecture. • Design and develop state-of-the-art, safety-verifiable perception algorithms to operate in various weather and visibility conditions and under uncertainty for; • Lane detection and tracking, • Static and dynamic obstacle detection and tracking, • Obstacle classification. • Work with the systems engineering, safety, and testing teams in identifying challenging cases for the perception subsystem. • Help the V&V team with constructing (simulated) scenarios to test the perception subsystem. • Work with the autonomy and systems engineering teams in defining and tracking perception related performance metrics. • Help build tools and infrastructure needed to verify and evaluate the performance of the perception subsystem over time.

About You: • B.S. in Computer Science, Robotics, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or similar field. • Has a deep understanding of the fundamentals of machine perception. • Experienced in working with (a subset of) camera, LiDAR, and radar data. • Has strong C++ skills. Nice to Haves: • Advanced degree in AI and Robotics. • Experience in parallelization on CPU and (GP)GPUs. • Experience with common robotic system middlewares. • Experience in safety-critical application development. • Relevant work in the autonomous driving field.
