AVP Application Administration

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

This position is responsible for managing software vendor applications for Distributed Services. This may entail some programming, system administration skills, and the ability to analyze a given problem, diagnose it and find its root cause, and then resolve it or pass the problem on to the appropriate people if it does not lie within the application analyst’s area of responsibility. This position is the main contact with the outside software vendor and will report all issues to management and business clients.

Principle Activities and Duties: • Recruit and manage application support employees. Ensure that their team is providing necessary application management and support to the business units. • Manage and support software vendor applications for distributed systems. • Manage software vendor relationship. • Project management for software updates and releases. • End user application support. • Create and maintain reports and documents. • Create, schedule and monitor database jobs. • System performance monitoring. • Research new modules, technologies and incorporate new tools into existing/new applications at the direction of the manager; responsible for teaching, sharing, cross training technology and skills with the department analysts. • Implement application changes: work with software vendor and Systems Administration to install system changes. • Create and execute system design specifications with the business units and work with software vendor to create/enhance application. • Manage, develop and test applications: create and enhance current applications for business units. • Create system test plans: work with business unit to document application testing. • Participate in system design: define the architecture, components, modules, interfaces, and data for a system to satisfy specified requirements. • Create system design specifications with the business units and work with software vendor to create/enhance application. •Follow IT policies and guidelines; directs and prepares systems and user documentation; draws VISIO charts application processes and business flows. •Prepare documentation for users and IT support units, and implement documentation and user manuals: create and review business process, software modification, project management and training documentation. •Perform application performance statistics and monitor daily image processing files. •Solve problems that tend to arise in the normal course of business, including off-hour support. •Communicate with co-workers and manager. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree required. Will consider commensurate experience in lieu of education. • Five years of vendor software support experience. • Five years of experience with end user support as an understanding of the business needs from the application is required. • Five years of project management experience as candidate will manage and coordinate bank application projects, including updates to the application and will work with business clients and all IT departments.  •One year of management experience. • Working knowledge of SQL Query. • Ability to work independently and with internal clients to develop reports and applications. • Effective analytical skills. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Desired Qualifications: • Report writing experience with Crystal Reporting, Microsoft’s SSRS and/or Microsoft’s Power BI. • Experience with Microsoft Windows products. • Experience with banking software packages such as MerdianLink and MortgageFlex. • Experience with banking loan processes and procedures.

Employment Status: Full-time, FLSA Exempt.  Schedule Information: Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30 PM. Additional hours may be required according to business needs.
