Back End Engineer II
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE: The Safety Suite team is passionate about developing the end-to-end SaaS platform that our customers depend on for managing their drivers. This team collaborates with Product Management, Customer Success and Leadership to innovatively deliver new products, iterate on existing features, and tackle tech debt for customers. Those interested in this role require commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and high-quality work.
WHAT YOU’LL DO • Develop quality code that is scalable, readable, and flexible enough to adapt to changing requirements • Collaborate with UX and Product Management to understand the customer experience and turn user stories into delivered features • Partner with other engineers, QA, and DevOps in a team-first environment to build and maintain customer-facing applications with a high degree of ownership • Support and develop our technical culture by being engaged, intellectually curious, friendly, and motivated to solve complex problems • Work on any task and help solve problems when needed.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE ROLE • 2-5 years of back end development experience • Proven expertise in Java, and Spring Boot • Experience working with RESTful APIs • Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end test code • Experience providing peer code reviews • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills • Proven ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills • Proven ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART • Strong foundation in Spring Boot and kafka • Experience with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD • Experience using Junit • Experience with Scala • Experience leveraging CIAM platforms such as Auth0 or Okta • Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and the AWS ecosystem
