Business Analyst

Job Type: Contract to Hire

The Business Analyst utilizes expertise of project and IT service management lifecycles to define stakeholders’ needs, analyze technical and non-technical business processes, and translate them into service and operational agreements.

Responsibilities • Meet with stakeholders and determine – Needs – Scope – Gaps – High-level, business, and functional requirements • Gather data and evaluate: true business needs – Interviews – Observation – Immersion – Prototypes – Process mapping – Workflow analysis • Organize data so technical and non-technical sources can: – develop new solutions or processes – Wireframes – Sitemaps – Data and content models – Gap analysis – Impact analysis – Timelines • Coordinate relationships and communications among Project Management Office, other departments, vendors, and consultants • Assist product owner and/or project sponsor • Plan and prioritize backlog • Writes user and grooming stories • Assist in developing: – Usability – Performance – Timelines – Contracts – Resources – Milestones – Hardware/software architecture and technical resources • Assist stakeholder post-implementation • Resolve incidents, problems, and change requests per Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements • Communicate technical resources and stakeholders’ changes • Maintain documents (e.g. end-user manuals, change logs) and contributes to Best Practices for core business applications • Develop, execute, validate, and remediate QA and testing plans in collaboration with staff and vendors • Assists data analysis needs for various areas • Develop dashboards and other tools fir stakeholders • Develop and manage data governance • Demonstrate and support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Skills • Strong knowledge of application development lifecycle, ITIL-based processes, IT service management concepts, quality assurance, and data analysis • Working knowledge of agile practices • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects • Strong written and oral presentation skills including presenting information to managers, clients, and the public • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

Education and Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree • 2-4 years of business analysis experience

Certifications and Licenses Preferred • Agile or Business Analyst Certifications (e.g. CCBA, CBAP)
