Data Engineer

We are looking for a talented, multi-tasking Data Engineer to join our team. With billions of math problems solved on the platform each year, our dataset offers massive potential for insights that can guide the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, helping all kids catch up and move forward with their learning. As a Data Engineer, you will perform the technical work that powers our business intelligence tools that allow us to perform research and make data-driven decisions.
What This Role Will Do: • Create and maintain the data pipelines that connect our various data sources to our data warehouse with our ETL/ELT tools • Transform the unstructured data into a format optimized for analytics using our data transformation tool, dbt • Oversee the data models used within our business intelligence tools to ensure consistent, standardized metrics used throughout the various outputs of data analytics • Troubleshoot and check data reports for accuracy and usefulness • Collaborate with the software engineering, research, partnerships, marketing and product teams to design the optimal data model that best suits the diverse data needs throughout the organization.
What You’ll Bring To The Role: • 3+ years of experience in data engineering • Experience working with a data warehouse such as Amazon Redshift or Snowflake • Fluency in SQL and familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python or R for statistical/data analysis use • Experience with dbt • Experience with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau • Strong communication skills and a desire to work collaboratively with other teams • A commitment to our mission of providing an exceptional education to all children • A desire to join an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment at a high-growth organization • The willingness to comply with our vaccination (subject to legally valid exemptions) and Personal Protective Equipment policies.
