Data Insight Analyst

As a member of the Survey, Test, and Assessment Team Services (STATS) team, the Data Insight Analyst will be responsible for the design, implementation, and administrative oversight of the assessment aggregate product reporting processes and deliverables. The Analyst will work closely with a diverse and global group of internal partners and customers to improve reporting processes, move to cloud-based data, and evolve report outputs.
Responsibilities: Assessment Data Transition • Partner with the Software Engineering (SE) group to transition reporting data sources from on-prem servers to Azure. • Gain understanding of the assessment product data structures from current reporting capabilities, and gather data reporting needs from internal stakeholders, and provide data modeling requirements to SE. • Actively engage in UAT/QA of new data models in Azure, provide feedback to SE. Identify and present data anomalies for upstream correction. • Co-create next-gen assessment reporting capabilities based on new Azure data models. Assessment Product Reporting • Co-design, develop, customize, continuously support, and continuously improve internal and client-facing visualized reports. • Co-create and maintain process documentation related to reporting, benchmarking, and interpretation. • Assist in delivery organization in the use and interpretation of reports. Assessment Reporting Process Improvement • Move standard reporting practices from individual-client reports to shared-reports leveraging Power BI RLS. • Redesign and implement STATS reporting processes/infrastructure (e.g., workspace structure, source file organization, report sharing methods, etc.). • Ensure reporting processes meet security standards. • Create/improve report process standards and training documentation. • Assist in automating reporting benchmark capabilities through Databricks (or other technology). • Investigate and implement strategies to optimize performance of existing client and cross-client Power BI reports, including streamlining data models, SQL queries, DAX calculations, and Databricks. • Assist in moving standard product reporting sharing from SharePoint to Pinpoint and the Portal (product and customer engagement software platforms).
Additional Potential Accountabilities: • Design, support, and innovate enterprise reports that support business – leveraging data from product, support, and financial databases. Technical development opportunities may be available as interest and abilities allow.
Basic Qualifications (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job): • Bachelor’s degree in data science, quantitative psychology, or related field. • Proven experience writing relational and multi-dimensional SQL database queries. • Experience with designing, building, and troubleshooting Power BI reporting solutions. • Demonstrated innovation, customer focus, problem solving, attention to detail, acquisition of new technical skills, and ability to navigate ambiguous and fast-paced situations. • 5 plus years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in data science, business intelligence, or related field. • Experience with Microsoft Power BI DAX commands. • Experience with Python, DataBricks, and/or Jupyter. • Experience querying and advance Power BI report development in Azure data lake/databases. • Experience creating data models for reporting purposes.
