POSITION SUMMARY: Work within product engineering and manufacturing to develop electrical systems and assemblies; assist with new and existing product development including circuit analysis, schematic design, layout, building prototypes, and testing of circuits, circuit boards and assemblies; apply sound engineering principles to continually improve product reliability; support manufacturing activities with troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES: • Assist with development of PCBs, electrical systems and assemblies from concept through design, verification, and production. • Contribute to R&D efforts to facilitate ongoing product improvement. • Develop design documentation including specifications, design documents, design reviews, engineering analysis and reports, and verification procedures. • Support investigation and resolution of production and field issues.
CAPABILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS: • PCB design and layout experience for embedded systems • Digital and microcontroller-based logic • Analog and data acquisition circuitry • Communications and networking including Ethernet and CAN • Battery related circuits • Power supplies and power conversion up to 60VDC and 1,000W • Monitoring and control of electro-mechanical components • PCB and system level troubleshooting and analysis of production and prototype electrical designs including failures from the field. • Experience with EMC testing and mitigation, including FCC and CE certification. • Design for harsh environments and reliability a plus. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal. • Ability to work both independently and within team environments. • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an equivalent capacity.
PREFERRED SKILLS: • Fluent in PCB CAD with Altium experience a plus. • Fluent with Microsoft Office • Working familiarity with Linux and tools
EDUCATION: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
