IT Applications Engineer
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent
The IT Applications Engineer is responsible for installing, administering and supporting applications supported by the Business Applications Team. Perform technical analysis, architectural design, implementation and problem solving of Software as a Service (SAAS), Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS), Platform as a Service (PAAS), and on premise installed applications (supporting Accounting, Marketing and Human Resources departments). Work closely with all internal clients leveraging the knowledge, resources and support groups within the firm. Work closely with Team members and IT Security Team to ensure compliance with security policies. Collaboration with peers in all firm locations. Additionally, access to our U.S. offices will be limited to personnel who are fully vaccinated from COVID-19. Essential Functions: • Responsible for the installation, implementation, and deployment of IT Business Applications team related systems. This includes SAAS, IAAS, PAAS and on premise applications. • Advanced level administration and support of Business applications systems. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues with cloud and on premise installed applications. This includes working with other technical teams and/or escalating with vendor to resolve software and system related issues. • Provide escalation level support for custom and third-party applications supported by the Business Applications team. • Work as liaison between IT Business Applications Team and Security Team to ensure policy compliance. Perform various security-related and vulnerability management tasks including security patching, application security. Take lead on security related, vulnerability remediation tasks related to IT Business Applications and platforms. • Coordinate system, application changes with other members of the IT department following IT Change Management process. • Provide assistance to colleagues in Information Technology, including but not limited to application troubleshooting, testing, and support. • Monitor and act on escalated issues. Monitor and work on problem tickets and requests for relevant application and system areas. This includes timely acknowledgement of tickets / requests –providing a high level of responsiveness and Customer Service. • Monitor and research software and systems for updates, version changes, and upgrades to assure business applications are current / up-to-date and of optimum quality. • Keep current with evolving technologies and application platforms including cloud technologies. • Work with other teams to develop efficiencies in existing firm processes through the use of application automation and integration. • Able to follow process, procedure, and policy as defined by the firm for the support of assigned applications/solutions. • May volunteer or be selected to serve on special committees, work groups, project teams, or escalation teams related to various firmwide IT initiatives. Initiatives may be specific one-time events (e.g., research, testing, rollouts, upgrades, installations) or ongoing activities.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer-related field. Additional training, education, and/or certification in relevant areas preferred.
Experience Required: At least 2 years of experience with installation, configuration, support, administration, and deployment of network, client/server, and web applications running on Windows Server At least 2 years of experience with managing SAAS/ IAAS / PAAS applications. Experience with various security-related and vulnerability management tasks including security patching, application security.
Experience Preferred: Familiarity with Citrix environment. Understanding of relational database concepts, impact of various design on performance a plus. Experience within the Legal industry is a plus.
Skills Required: IT Applications administration & support experience. Experience supporting business applications (supporting Accounting, Marketing and Human Resources departments) Experience working with Windows server, relational database(s) (SQL Server), SQL Programming including stored procedures. Experience working with, supporting SAAS, IAAS, and PAAS and on premise installed applications. Understanding of relational database concepts, impact of various design on performance Experience with creating technical documentation. Demonstrated a strong ability to provide effective solutions for complex problems and requests. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to perform well with very limited supervision and adhere to tight deadlines. Able to effectively interact with individuals at all organizational levels and adapt to changing timelines and requirements.
Skills Preferred: Experience working with cloud environment is a plus.
Other Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibilities, but provides general technical team and project leadership. Provide significant input to the Business Applications Sr. Manager regarding annual team member performance evaluations.
