Manager – DevOps

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

Manager, DevOps will lead and mentor DevOps team members in implementing and managing a wide range of DevOps and automation capabilities including Test Automation located on-prem and in the cloud. This will be a hands-on position.

Responsibilities:  Technical Leadership • Provide leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment for continuous integration and continuous delivery products • Collaborate and partner with the infrastructure team in migration to Azure • Lead the development of tools and frameworks to codify DevSecOps, DevOps, Data Ops and Test Automation best practices • Work with other Leaders, Architects, and other Sr Engineers to plan and execute the architectural and feature roadmap • Maintain awareness of current marketplace trends related to ongoing process improvements and technology trends • Review Problem Management tickets, provide Root Cause Analysis reports, and action plans for improvement • Assist with Vendor Management and Client Security Questionnaires • Manage operational aspect of production and development servers including developing, training in, and validating compliance with procedures and checklists • Help drive risk management and disaster recovery, craft service level agreements and manage cloud accounts and cost. • Talent Development and Management • Manage, coach, and mentor a cross-functional team, which could include on-site and offshore resources • Provide effective performance feedback using performance management system and address any performance/productivity issues. • Help develop an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, high performance, productivity, and goal accomplishment • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed • Maintain transparent communication with their teams on organization, department, and team goals • Help motivate their team in times of crisis • Champion change within the department Collaboration • Contribute toward and be an articulate advocate of the technology roadmap within and across agile teams and departments • Work with the Product Teams and other internal stakeholders to understand the business problems and work with their teams to provide the right solution • Be a Key Partner to the Infrastructure team • Coordinate and collaborate with the Customer Experience team to ensure the work done by the teams is communicated accordingly and the Support ticketing system is kept up to date • Facilitate the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems/issues • Be an advocate for security and performance standards in the organization.

Overall Work Experience: • 8+ years’ experience with multiple Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Automated Testing Frameworks • 2+ years of formal engineering leadership experience • Experience with delivering infrastructure and Configuration as code • Experience with MLOps an added advantage • Experience working with modern CICD Practices and DevOps Tools, including: • Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise • Scripting Languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or DOS Batch • Repository creation and maintenance • Build and Release Pipelines such as Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions • Version control branching patterns and best practices • Project Management Tooling such as Azure DevOps Boards Specific experience with Microsoft Azure, including the management of: • Web Application Hosting Technologies, such as: Virtual Machines, App Service Plans, Azure Functions, or Logic Apps • Networking Technologies, such as: Front Door, Application Gateway, Traffic Manager, Load Balancer, Azure DNS Zones, Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, etc. • Data Hosting Technologies, such as: SQL PaaS, Cosmos DB, Table Storage, etc. • Best practices for integration of KeyVault • Other Azure Resources

Additionally: • Experience with the Azure Well-Architected Framework an added advantage • Strong understanding of industry security and compliance standards including Security by Design • Strong understanding of various software testing methodologies and technologies including – unit, integrations, functional, manual, load, automation frameworks, API, and regression testing • Strong understanding and experience executing agile software development methodologies and life cycles • Proven ability to organize/manage multiple priorities coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever-changing business needs • Experience working with external vendors and partners • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Adept at presenting complex topics, influencing, and executing with timely / actionable follow-through • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert information into practical training deliverables. Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems.
