Network / Cloud Engineer

Job Summary: This position is primarily responsible for administering and supporting the enterprise systems and network infrastructure, maintaining the functionality, security/patching, and uptime of critical technology systems such as file and print servers, storage infrastructure, application servers, and client/vendor connectivity.

Duties/Responsibilities: • IT infrastructure installation, maintenance and support of internal data center and related hardware and outsourced data center and hardware. This includes managing all Desktop Support activities, Email support, Server & Network Administration, and administration of Telecom systems. • Network and Communications equipment implementation, maintenance and support (LAN, WAN, etc.). • System Backup and recovery. Coordinate system backups, data archiving, and disaster recovery planning • Implement and support regulatory compliance, policies and procedures related to IT operations and security. • Responsible for the patching and scanning of the infrastructure (servers, workstations/laptops) • Install, upgrade, and maintain the functionality of technology systems • Maintain the functionality, security, and uptime of critical technology systems • Regularly improve the security posture of enterprise systems and network infrastructure • Document all aspects of the enterprise systems and network infrastructure and key processes related to its operation and maintenance • Support peers on other projects and tasks while balancing regular duties • Record and respond to technical incidents and requests using the Service Desk ticketing system while adhering to performance goals • Assisting with new technology investigations, coordinating implementations and support of new enterprise applications and technologies entering the infrastructure, writing and updating service and procedural documentation, proposing and implementing process improvements, and working collaboratively with peers and support teams. • Candidate may also be assigned other responsibilities such as planning, equipment staging, etc. as change occurs • Implement and support existing and new applications and technologies entering the infrastructure • Provide prompt and courteous customer support to end users and troubleshooting activities (e.g., unlocking accounts, Service Desk ticket and queue monitoring, direct person-to-person troubleshooting, etc…) • Resolve technical issues within defined SLAs and document root cause and resolution. • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. • Contribute to the development of IT departmental strategies to align with the overall business strategy as well as corporate strategy. • Contribute to the development and implementation of hardware and software standards for network, servers, databases, wireless technology, file & print services, etc. • Contribute to the development and implementation of data retention standards • Contribute to the development and maintenance of overall backup and recovery strategy (Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity). • Contribute to the development of, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for effective delivery of services and compliance with regulatory guidance. • Contribute to the development and implementation of ‘best-practice’ standards as well as departmental policies and procedures. Were possible: • Support cloud solutions and implementations • Research and analyze requirements then determine best applicable PaaS solutions • Compose Blueprints, Policies, and Governance for the enterprise • Document cloud architecture, policies, and procedures • Help setup initial infrastructure and maintain existing solutions • Review existing solutions for cost and performance • Ensure security and compliance within cloud solutions

Required Skills/Abilities: • Proven experience in the implementation and maintenance of hardware solutions • System Administration experience with Windows desktop and Windows Servers • Experience managing Active Directory, OUs, Group Policies, Windows Server Update Services • Good understanding of user environment management, including desktops/laptops, profile management, software delivery, etc. • Good people skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization • Proactive in understanding and staying up-to-date on the current projects in progress, projects in pipeline and operational issues. Similarly, with industry technology trends and applicability of software/hardware solutions The desired skillsets are as follows: • Desired certifications include: MCSE, MCSA, A+, Network+, Cisco, VMware, PMP or Project+, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library • Administration experience with Microsoft web applications and technologies – IIS 7.0 • Experience with supporting a Microsoft SQL Server database infrastructure • Strong hands-on/technical knowledge of core Microsoft technologies including but not limited to Windows Servers, Active Directory, MS SQL is required • Hands-on/technical knowledge of core Network/Cisco technologies like LAN/WAN, subnets, firewalls, VLAN’s, and VPN using Cisco switches, routers, IPS and ASA’s is required • Experience as an Azure Administrator or equivalent role • Experience with SCRUM/Agile development methodologies • Ability to keep up to date with cloud offerings and solutions

Education and Experience: • BS degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience • 5+ years managing Information Technology, network support • 5+ years in a professional environment • Strong Reading/Writing skills required Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
