Network Engineer – Voice

WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THIS ROLE: Partner with business and IT teams to engineer & support our Enterprise Unified Communications Network (e.g., Cisco CUCM, CME, CUE, SME, CUBE, UCCX, Unity, LAN/WAN/Wireless and Voice) technology solutions by evaluating technology standards, availability of products, and the risks and benefits of technology introduction into the company infrastructure. This is a full time remote opportunity. We are looking to hire immediately.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Work with IT and business teams to identify technology solutions to achieve business results. Ensure appropriate implementation of technology within both the development and production environments. Perform engineering and design functions for Networking Systems; oversee the introduction of new Networking Systems technology by utilizing industry standard processes. Provide Networking Systems technical support to business and partners. Establish, maintain and enhance relationships with business and IT partners. Maintain awareness of trends and issues in the area of Networking Systems technology; evaluate new technology opportunities and provide analysis of their potential impact to business. Responsible for maintaining Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Contact Center, Cisco Jabber, and Cisco Finesse and CUIC. Responsible for trouble shooting and resolving telephony issues within department SLA Knowledge of Cisco IOS, WAN/LAN and Voice design. Change management techniques associated with new technology implementation. Consistently demonstrates a professional, self-directed approach to department responsibilities. Validate change requests and ensure accuracy. Works with other Information Technology teams to coordinate and integrate systems. Configure and resolve complex technical problems utilizing expert knowledge of SIP signaling and call-flows. Configure route plans, route lists, device profiles, calling search spaces, and route partitions. Performs on call duty as required.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree. Three to five years of relevant experience Cisco certifications is a plus. Technical and engineering skills in Networking Systems (e.g., release updates, security patches, build, deployment tools and processes). Proven skills in administering routers, switches, gateways, VLAN’s, and Cisco Voice Solutions SIP, TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, SMTP, Web Technologies. Experience with MS-Teams voice and direct routing is a plus.
Skills & Abilities: Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Able to use third party tools in the support of the telephony systems. Including but not limited to- Xmedius, Informacast-E911, ISI Reporting, DNA, VM-Ware. Builds and configures phones and voice mail in support of moves, adds and changes. Ability to creatively troubleshoot complex problems. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to organize and prioritize projects. Ability to effectively function as a team player. Skill in reading and interpreting technical instructions as applicable to job. Ability to execute assignments with minimum oversight.
