Operations Manager

Location: Weirton, WV

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Directs, manages and coordinates the internal operational activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals and objectives established by the Board of Directors
  • Leads and directs the operational business and coordinates the activities with mother company
  • She/he will be in charge of the health safety responsibilities; also facility manager will report to her/him
  • Assists the Executive Board in the development of organization policies and goals that cover operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth of the functions and/or business units mentioned above.
  • Responsible for the daily operation of the company, and routinely reports to the highest ranking executive. Specifically she/he will be measured on:
    • EBITDA
    • On Time Delivery and Productivity
    • Quality (both internal and external) and 5S level (safety and work organization)
    • Skills development
    • Continuous improvement mngt
  • Directs internal operations to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria
  • Participates in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives
  • Directs the implementation, development and refining of systems and processes, promoting communication and adequate information flow, and thereby solidify management control and direction of the enterprise
  • Develops and establishes operating processes consistent with the Board policies and objectives and insures their adequate execution
  • Appraises and evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically, and reports these results to the Board
  • Insures that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations (including environmental and safety regolamentation)
  • Ensures adequate management of people (hiring, retaining and developing key people), believing that people are the best asset of the company

Education & Experience:

  • Education: at least a Technical or Economics specialist degree
  • At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing environment, with 2/3 years in a leading role position. Experience/direct involvement in Lean transformation journey is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of economic and production performance indicators
  • P&L management skill
  • SWOT analysis and strategic thinking experiences
  • ROI analisys
  • Solid knowledge and experience in Team work management tools and related best practices
  • Solid knowledge of logistic and supply chain management
  • Base knowledge of the production/manufacturing processes
  • Base knowledge of the Project Management
  • Office Package (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Solid knowledge of basic tools/principles of the TPS/lean management
  • Natural Leadership (Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies, such as mother company colleagues, community, customers, third part inspectors)
  • “Dirty hands” approach, means “go to see” in the shopfloor the problem when it occurs
