PMO Manager Supervisor

Summary: Under the direction of the Director, Project Management Office, the Project Management Manager provides day-to-day leadership, oversight, and guidance for Project Management staff, both full-time and temporary. Continuously monitors existing processes for improvement, effectiveness, and the application of project management best practices and established standards, assists in developing and monitoring quality targets, and manages resource allocation to facilitate the work of the Project Management Office. Includes the oversight and development of PM staff as well as project management related education and mentoring of business unit staff involved with the Project Management Office and/or active projects as needed. Additionally, the Project Management Manager will be responsible for managing a group of projects which will leverage organizationally approved project management techniques that govern scope, budget, and resources for all initiatives.
This position can be a full-time remote (work from home) position. Occasional travel to our Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA throughout the year will be required.
Responsibilities and Duties • Mentor, coach, motivate, and coordinate training for project team members and project managers as needed. Facilitate an environment of collaboration. Guide project managers in learning and applying decision making approaches. • Assist in developing and driving best practices and standards for Project Management based on Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines and corporate requirements. Ensures adherence to PMO’s project methodology and guidelines across all Enterprise initiatives. • Assign PMO staff resources and provide oversight on projects to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget and to specification. Collaborate with stakeholders and resolve issues related to project priorities, resource allocation and workflow processes. • Communication and relationship building with project sponsors and stakeholders. Establish and manage project goals, tasks, milestones, resources, scope and budget. • Assist in the management, development and execution of processes for all ONS projects. Identify and evaluate new methods for continuous process improvement. • Resolve conflicts internal to project teams over project priorities, availability of resources and workflow processes. • Assist in determining when external resources are needed and as needed, facilitate the writing and/or reviewing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and managing relationships. • Assist in evaluating and/or suggesting improvements to project management tools and methodologies. This includes utilizing standard project documentation, methodologies, project tracking, and reporting procedures. • Identify, implement, and serve as a champion for business process change. Drive organizational change by communicating and demonstrating the value of project management methodologies. • Serve as a monitor for organization-wide projects, tracking adherence to approved processes and providing statuses on all projects.
Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and five to seven years related project management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
