Product Analyst

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

As a Product Analyst, you will provide leadership in the management and development of products while working closely with our Software Engineering team towards a consistent product goal. You will be empowered to establish collaborative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders to gather accurate requirements, coordinate planning with other development teams and manage backlogs. This Product Analyst role requires the ability to understand technology solutions and communicate with stakeholders from many functional areas in both technical and non-technical terms.  Our projects are driven using agile processes, particularly Scrum. Candidates should have knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) including: requirements development, design specifications, solution development and testing, support, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesizing and communicating insights during the product development process
  • Exploring data to find actionable insights and make product recommendations
  • Working with engineering to implement, document, validate, and monitor product features
  • Identifying, translating, prioritizing, and informing important product questions with data
  • Does research and analysis to evaluate alternative workflow solutions
  • Ensures operation by training client personnel; providing support
  • Transforming business challenges into insightful analysis, by working closely with business partners and Engineer/QA team
  • Actively facilitate technical product backlog grooming sessions, retrospectives, defect management and project teams release planning sessions
  • Work directly with Agile Scrum teams to provide technical product requirements that drive technical product delivery
  • Ensure new project initiatives run smoothly and participate in project related meetings and discussions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs
  • Provides reference by writing documentation
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related business field (computer science, information systems, etc.) or comparable degree and/or experience
  • Prior experience with product development, understanding Product Requirements Documents and writing software requirements is required
  • Experience with agile software development (particularly Scrum)
  • Operates largely independently with project direction from Lead Product Analyst
  • Able to mentor, motivate and inspire team members
  • Able to lead interactive group development sessions
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, energetic, “can-do” attitude in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal; ability to present data and its implications in a clear, concise manner
  • Healthcare Industry experience a plus
  • Fundamental NLP (Natural Language Processing ) knowledge a plus
