Product Designer

Job Purpose Product Designers are creative, thoughtful individuals with a strong aptitude for making, prototyping, producing best-in-class experiences, improving workflows, and paying attention to detail. Passionate individuals that create compelling, engaging, and meaningful human-centered experiences for clinical specialists and their teams. An individual capable of driving their design projects to fruition as they work successfully with engineers, product managers, design researchers, and clinical stakeholders. Their work should demonstrate mastery of visual and interaction design principles combined with an innate understanding of how people use digital interfaces to communicate clearly and emotively with a diverse audience.

Product Design Responsibilities • Uses human-centered design methods to frame and validate initial concepts, develop early-stage prototypes and iterate on developed solutions • Provides appropriate human-centered design deliverables on assigned projects, including wireframes, interaction guides, user interface guides, and detailed documentation • Facilitates design sessions to capture design requirements and feedback • Demonstrated ability to work around difficult design, resource, time, and technical limitations • Implements new and improved design patterns, methods, and processes • Working knowledge of multiple functional areas such as product management and engineering • Advocates for users, considering their needs and wants • Capable of working on large or complex projects (or multiple small/mid-size projects) while maintaining momentum and quality • Builds appropriate project plans, goals and work plans to frame early-stage efforts in an actionable and relevant way • Able to lead stakeholder sessions, user groups, and participatory design sessions to capture ideas, feedback, and requirements

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Centered Design or related field (i.e., Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Communication/Graphic Design, Cognitive Psychology, Interaction Design, Human Factors, etc.) required or comparable degree or experience • Advanced degree preferred • A portfolio of exceptional and multidisciplinary work • 3+ years of UX design experience in designing, delivering, and continuously improving products in the marketplace • Experience with illustration, motion design, and animation preferred • Significant experience framing project goals and timelines in the face of uncertainty, including a demonstrated comfort level working with unfamiliar domains, delicate topics, and complex problems • Is visually and verbally articulate; including the ability to lead interactive group development sessions • Understands and applies values and code of conduct. Interacts with others in an open, honest, collaborative, and reliable manner
