Product Manager – Threat Detection Device Job Purpose: Guides cross-functional team responsible for the complete customer experience, sets vision and strategy, defines features and requirements, and manages product life cycle for assigned product line(s).


  • Identify market opportunities
  • Conduct primary market research and leverage secondary market research to make informed decisions regarding product and strategy
  • Identify customer/market problems
  • Define product features and capabilities
  • Collaborate with finance to determine Forecast Return on Investment and other key financial indicators
  • Define product positioning, distribution and pricing strategies
  • Create sales or market share projections
  • Manage the product life cycle for assigned products
  • Ability to articulate and develop business case
  • Own and manage the product roadmap
  • Collaborate with engineering and R&D to deliver new and improved products to market in a timely manner
  • Drive product launches
  • Act as product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Become the industry expert for all assigned market segments – law enforcement, security, etc.
  • Thought leadership content development
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing communications to develop and execute launch and marketing plans
  • Act as expert on assigned market(s) including competition
  • Train sales, field service, and other employees as needed
  • Participate in speaking engagements including trade shows and industry events
  • Travel to and engages with customers/market on a regular basis to train, collect and evaluate Voice of Customer (VOC) for products and market segments, and develop relationships. Travel will be domestic and international.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Expertise or knowledge of explosives/chemicals/narcotics detection, military, law enforcement, security industries
  • At least 5 years experience as a Product Manager or Marketing Manager in a related industry or equivalent experience
  • Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining product strategies from innovation to end-of-life
  • Experience working with direct sales and distribution groups
  • Technical writing and communication skills necessary
  • Proven experience in customer and market research
  • Product Management Certification and/or MBA preferred
