Product Service Technician

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture positive relationships with customers
  • Provide customer service and support for all instrumentation representing the company in a professional manner to potential and current customers
  • Perform installation of products at customer facilities including site inspection, physical installation, performance qualification, and customer training
  • Track internal and external customer issues
  • Perform on site repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Diagnose issues related to electro-mechanical optical systems and determine proper solutions
  • Create and circulate timely and detailed service reports
  • Collaborate with members of the product team and work cross-functionally
  • Follow standard operating procedures related to all installation/support/service, manufacturing, and inventory control activities
  • Produce and update documentation for standard operating procedures, work instructions, etc. at the direction of Product Support Engineer
  • Become proficient with products and technology
  • Provide insight into customer experiences and expectations
  • Deliver feedback to product team from customer visits
  • Recommend improvements in standard operating procedure, work instructions, etc.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree, in a technical field preferred
  • Electro-mechanical knowledge and experience
  • Opto-mechanical aptitude
  • Strong computer skills
  • Basic electrical circuit knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of physics
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, when needed, on short notice
  • Must be able to read and understand CAD drawings and schematics
  • Basic materials, statistics, dynamics, and kinematics knowledge a plus
  • Self-starter with exceptional customer service, communication, and self-management skills
  • Proven field service experience preferred
  • Analytical thinking and ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing work loads
  • Candidate will be subject to background screenings to gain access to foreign and domestic facilities, a security clearance is a plus
