Programmer Analyst II

OBJECTIVE: Programming and development of internal efficiencies, workflows and reports related to the Jack Henry core processing system. Self-starter with a willingness to adapt and learn about new programming techniques and professionally function as part of a project team or independently. Gather data, analysis and requirements for new program requests. Display a willingness to learn and use Episys PowerOn scripting language, complete unit testing, and develop test scripts for end-user testing.

WORKING HOURS: Generally, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, based on business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Associates Degree or education equivalent to two years of college required • Minimum 1-3 years programming experience required • Formal computer programming training in an educational or technical environment • Ability to perform and complete tasks with minimum supervision • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Ability to multi-task and quickly change priorities • Ability to function in a team environment • Dedicated to providing excellent service • Experience working in a Jack Henry environment. • Power BI is also strongly preferred • Experience with SQL, ability to create applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other similar programming languages • Experience with .NET, C# and Visual Studio a plus • Experience with SOAP or REST APIs is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Demonstrate competency and continued proficiency in the use of Episys PowerOn scripting language • Dependability and good attendance record is required • Display a strong understanding of the core systems and play a major role in keeping these systems fully functional on a day-to-day basis • Exhibit strong communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify and articulate alternative approaches to technical issues • Interact with functional business and product experts to identify and implement technical business solutions • Maintain architectural integrity and consistency with existing and planned systems • Maintain current and accurate installation/procedural/disaster recovery documentation • Remain current with new technologies and apply these technologies where applicable • Research and analyze user requests to determine needs and/or prioritization • Work within a defined structure with clearly communicated objectives, priorities, and deadlines • Work within and adapt guidelines to specific situations • Maintain close communication with manager to report progress and escalated issues and to communicate strategies and tactics • Standard hours may vary according to projects in process and departmental or institutional needs; some weekend work and some travel may be required • Occasionally handle other I.T. related duties as requested by management • Support our Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion by welcoming and embracing the unique differences of others, treating others fairly and equitably, and creating an inclusive experience where others feel respected and valued; Understand and believe a diverse workplace is essential to the company’s vision and success.
