The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for leading and completing all the tasks related to testing data present in the data analytics platform and support of data warehouse ELT solutions. Works as part of a team to test data pipelines, data transformation logic developed in ADF, python or Scala and other technologies to move data from a variety of operational platforms into the Azure cloud applying data engineering principles. The test engineer should be able to make use of Azure tools and techniques to test data ingest ed and transformed to the business need. Participate in project scope definitions, and sprint cadences. Continue to learn innovative ideas and strategies regarding test practices & standards. This role has an opportunity to grow in the organization into other roles & opportunities.

Responsibilities: • Work as part of an Agile team to implement test phases of the data development life cycle. • Analyze user stories to develop and execute comprehensive test cases and automation coverage. • Plan and ensure design, creation, and performance of automated and manual testing for our data. • Plan and ensure the design, creation and performance of effective load, performance, and stress testing. • Collaborate with teams to deploy a continuous integration and deployment pipeline of tests. • Develop and implement metrics for effective load, performance, and stress testing and oversee the analysis of the results. • Troubleshoot and help resolve technical problems and functional questions related to the data, partnering as needed with personnel required. • Ensure that the infrastructure changes are promoted up the stack in a quality manner and perform necessary testing to ensure no adverse impact to production. • Coordinate cross-team initiatives as needed. • Cover multiple initiatives as needed. • Stay abreast of key developments within the data industry, actively seek learning opportunities and apply knowledge to the job.

We encourage you to apply as you might be the right fit for this role or other exciting opening: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or relevant work experience. • Experience with testing methodologies like integrations, functional, manual, load, and regression testing. • Experience of testing multiple integrated data systems in cloud-based data solutions preferable Azure. • Strong SQL skills to carry out data validations. • Work with product owners, data engineers to create testing strategies, plans, cases, and scripts. • Ability to triage issues, react well to change, work with teams and work on multiple products or projects. • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment. • Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementations, including testing in Azure. • Python Scripting Experience. • Expert knowledge of the quality assurance process throughout the entire QA lifecycle. • Strategic thinker and a problem solver, layer questions and really understand the problem at hand, understand the business and key drivers for success. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment and does what it takes to deliver results. • Ability to identify, diagnose and resolve problems within data platform and across source systems. • Maintain a stable performance under pressure and/or in the face of ambiguity. • Must enjoy influencing others by creating a participative environment, taking responsibility for the success of working on complex projects. • Work with limited to no oversight. • Excel in teamwork, critical thinking, collaboration, adaptability, problem analysis, initiative, communication skills, risk taking, planning, and organizing.
