Server Operations Engineer Tier II

We are seeking an aggressive, career-focused individual to join our expanding team for the position of Server Operations – Tier II. This individual is responsible for the systems support as it pertains to the current client base of the company. This position must support active clients and work with future clients by developing a thorough understanding of their business needs as they relate to their Technology needs. Your responsibilities will include: • Script development to automate processes and monitor system performance • Hardware / OS performance analysis and tuning, enhancements and corrective actions • Maintaining systems including Windows and firmware patching • Planning of infrastructure changes and improvements • Documentation of implementation processes and procedures • Helping to manage multiple colocation facilities and customer environments • Staying up-to-date with competing technologies • After-hours and on-call responsibilities as required or defined • Minimal travel and some weekend work will be required.
The candidate must have: • 2-6 years of Server Operations experience • Experience with designing, implementing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting mission-critical, 24x7x365, medium to large-scale environments • Demonstrated level of success in the development of client relationships • Enjoy working with clients and external audiences • Strong organizational, presentation, and client service skills • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and client-care • Skill in preparing written communications and materials Strong VMWare and/or Hyper-V experience • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly • Familiarity with Office365 administration • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate data entry • Experience with Windows system administration in an Internet facing, high volume, high growth environment. This would include installation, configuration, hardening, patching, tuning, and monitoring of systems • Linux system administration a plus • HPE product familiarity a plus • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as PRTG or Microsoft Systems Center is a plus.
