UX Designer

We are looking for a detail oriented UX generalist with advanced expertise with creating wireframes and interaction design to join our creative team. This role will help to research, define, and design the user experience across all aspects of our best-in-class education product, with an immediate focus on leading the design of our student lessons and activities for young children (PK – 2nd Grade).

What This Role Will Do: • Work closely with Creative and UX Directors, Product Managers and Developers to create necessary design deliverables in an agile and collaborative environment • Develop deep understanding of the business, design, and user needs, while delivering on company mission • Design, execute, and share results for user research, usability tests, and competitive audits • Gather requirements, define business logic, create objectives, and reach consensus with stakeholders • Create original wireframes and prototypes to communicate and test your interface designs • Integrate team feedback effectively by knowing when to push the details and when to prioritize speed • Support the product managers in writing functional specs for the dev team • Help maintain, expand, and advocate usage of our design system, templates, and style guides • Manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously • Identify and deliver continuous improvements to internal process and systems • Stay current on best practice and advances in education technology and the product design field.

What You’ll Bring To The Role: • Minimum 3 years as a professional UX Designer • Portfolio demonstrating exceptional quality and experience in UX/Product design • Solid understanding of the digital product design process and its limitations • Fluency with best practices in UI and interaction design • Ability to create design solutions with adherence to business, user and company goals • Professional level knowledge of current design software such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, Adobe CC, Zeplin • Prototyping skills in program of your choice • Ability to design cross-platform with focus on desktop & tablet • Experience following design patterns, an understanding of how to maintain consistent interaction design by following existing conventions • General tech savviness with understanding of coding and development process • Strong work ethic with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Ability to own and run projects from concept to completion with little supervision • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Passion for educational technology and math • A plus if you have experience designing for children • A commitment to our mission of providing an exceptional education to all children • A desire to join an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment at a high-growth organization • The willingness to comply with the company vaccination (subject to legally valid exemptions) and Personal Protective Equipment policies.

Location: This role is remote, however local to the NYC area is strongly preferred. You may be asked to travel as needed for business or for team building purposes.
