Web Designer / Developer

We’re a Pittsburgh based web development, marketing and consulting firm looking for an additional web designer/developer to join our team. This position will have a chance to work on many different kinds of projects for various B2B and B2C clients as well as our own internal sites. We are looking for someone who can balance their workload to help out on smaller projects and also take full ownership of bigger projects. The ability to finish a task or project in a detailed and complete manner is important. This may require working direct with clients at times. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can bring both creative/design and technical experience to the table.

Job Description: • Under general supervision, design, build, test, debug, document, implement and maintain client and internal websites • Act as a core part of the site build team and assist with the creative process for a site’s design, wireframe, navigational layout and user experience while aiming to meet the client’s general goals and expectations. • Assist in troubleshooting, modifying, and enhancing existing websites and/or applications. • Contribute to discussions on a range of topics including: functionality, technical specs, design trends, UI/UX and apply those decisions to your daily work. • Test as you code to provide solutions that are compliant with industry standards as well as perform cross-platform/device testing and quality assurance testing on your own and other team members’ work. • Successfully optimize websites for speed, performance, accessibility and basic SEO.

Required: – At least 2 years of experience in on-the-job web design and development – Solid experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript – Strong understanding of mobile best practices, and experience with bootstrap or other CSS frameworks. – Experience with one or more forms of site optimization – Experience with WordPress – Experience working with various Content Management Systems while also being able to code pages from scratch when necessary – Experience with Adobe software products – Good at problem solving and willing to do research to solve a particular issue – Positive attitude – A portfolio or example work Details – Laid back work environment – Flexible offerings (FT preferred, but contract/part time also available)

Pittsburgh Area required. Work will be part-time remote. Schedule: COVID-19 considerations: We are currently working remotely most days and will likely go to a flex schedule with part-time in office, part-time from home this summer. Experience: • Web Design/Development: 2 years (Required)
